Letter from Council Chair Erik Rowland
Dear State Delegates,
I am writing to offer my strong endorsement of Luke Searle for Utah House District 59.
I have served with Luke on the Wasatch County Council for the past three years, and I have seen firsthand the kind of leader he is. Luke
is the kind of public servant people hope for: engaged, prepared, thoughtful, and genuinely committed to representing his community
well.
One of the things I respect most about Luke is that he consistently reaches out to others. He makes a deliberate effort to connect not
only with fellow council members, but also with constituents across the county. He listens carefully, seeks out input, and works to
understand the concerns and priorities of the people he serves.
Luke also does his homework. He takes the time to study issues thoroughly, understand the details, and think through the broader
implications of the decisions before him. He is not someone who reacts casually or relies on surface-level talking points. He puts in the
work to be informed, and that leads to better leadership.
Just as importantly, Luke is exceptionally effective at working with other elected officials. He knows how to build relationships, work
collaboratively, and move important issues forward. In a time when effective leadership requires both principle and the ability to work
well with others, Luke stands out.
I’ve also been able to work with Luke on protecting open space and our Council’s efforts to protect the North Fields and doing so on a collaborative way with the cities, towns and land owners here.
Based on my experience serving alongside him, I am confident Luke Searle will represent House District 59 with integrity, diligence, and
sound judgment. He has my full support, and I respectfully encourage you to give him your strongest consideration.
Sincerely,
Erik Rowland
